Nikki Traylor-Knowles is an award-winning belly dance performer and instructor living in the Boston area. She is both nationally and internationally recognized for her dazzling performances, and impeccable technique.
Nikki is wonderful at spicing up any event. Her famous sword dances, inter-play with the audience, and connection with the music is incredibly inspiring and tantilizing. Whether Nikki is performing or teaching, her passion for dance shines through. She performs a unique, free-spirited fusion of Egyptian/Lebanese and Turkish cabaret and is always incorporating other styles into her performances. In 2005, Nikki was awarded the title of Best Belly Dancer in Boston, in the Advanced Category of the Boston Belly Dance Contest.
As co-founder of Egyptian Sun Productions at Johns Hopkins University, Nikki has instructed countless students in the art of belly dance. She provides her students with a strong foundation in technique, but gives them room to interpret the music as they see fit. Dance is after all a form is self-expression! Nikki has also choreographed stunning group dances for her students. She is an expert teacher and choreographer and is great at promoting her students' strengths, while still challenging them to learn more.
